Create a filing system Dedicate a couple folders to scholarships. Keeping all your application data in one place makes everything easier, especially if you are applying for multiple scholarships. Keep two separate files: one for the documents you’ll need for your application and one for your completed applications. |
| 3. |
Complete your application Make sure you’ve completed the entire application and that it’s perfect—this is no place for spelling or grammatical errors. |
| 4. |
Write your essay It’s usually best to make an outline before you begin writing—it can help organize your thoughts, keep you on track and help the writing go faster. |
| 5. |
Get a great recommendation Even if it’s not required, consider including a letter of recommendation with your application. A great endorsement may improve your chances. |
| 6. |
Never give up There may be many applicants for one particular scholarship. So, apply for numerous scholarships and don’t take it personally if you don’t receive one you applied for. Remember, the more you apply for, the more likely you are to receive one or more. | |
