Stable Value Plus Investment Option

Investments Managed by Metropolitan Life Insurance Company of Connecticut (MetLife)

Designed to protect your principal investment, this option currently provides an annual 2.84% rate of return  through December 31, 2011¹. Stable Value Plus accomplishes this through a guarantee provided to the plan by MetLife Insurance Company. Since your contributions and accumulated earnings are not exposed to general market risk and fluctuations, this option may be appropriate if you are seeking a low-risk 529 investment or if you plan to use the funds for college soon. MetLife resets the annual rate of return for the plan each January, and as of January 1, 2012 this rate will become 3.04%.

 ¹ Effective September 1, 2011 the current 2011 rate of return is 2.84% per year net of all fees. The rate of return is reset each year by MetLife and will not go below a minimum of 2%. The minimum rate of return of 2% is prior to any fees or charges payable to CollegeInvest , including an annual administrative fee not to exceed 0.99%.
